Your tour commences as you fly over the beautiful Gulf Islands passing the beautiful cities of Vancouver and West Vancouver.
The approach by air up Howe Sound is probably one of the most striking flightseeing trips anywhere - made even better with the Lion’s Gate mountains, the walls of the fjord to your side, and the mountains straight ahead with the ‘sea to sky highway’ below hugging the wall sharing it with the resources railroad. With its worldwide reputation as a premier ski destination it is surprising that it hosts more visitors in the summer than the winter. Our day tours start in Victoria, landing at Squamish where our minibus meets you, the transfers you to downtown Whistler (25 minutes). In the winter months December thru February you land in the middle of the world’s most exciting gathering of eagles as they feed on Chum salmon on the banks of the Cheekamus River in Brackendale Park.
Squamish is the wind surfing and para gliding capital of Canada. On occasion we can offer group hiking and climbing tours of the Stawamus Chief over which you will fly on your approach to the Squamish Airport. This enormous rock is the jump off point of the para gliders paradise.
Many are surprised to know that Whistler is busier in the summer than in the winter. Apart from its beauty, it is the hub of outdoor sports for the area. The new Peak to Peak gondola that stretches from between Whistler and Blackcomb has become an instant success. During the winter 2016/17 Northstar will have regular weekly charters between Victoria and Whistler Blackcomb including the 25 minutes ground transfer between Squamish and Whistler.
